December 31st: "Entered 12 Upper Gower Street." 1839. January 29th: Married at Maer. February and March: Some work on Corals and on Species Theory. March (part) and April: Working at Coral paper.
Papers on a Rock seen on an Iceberg, and on the Parallel Roads of Glen Roy.
Published "Journal and Remarks," being volume iii.
