To Hannah and Margaret Macaulay.
London: August 16, 1832, My dear Sisters,--We begin to see a hope of liberation.

To-morrow, or on Saturday at furthest, the hope to finish our business.

I did not reach home till four this morning, after a most fatiguing and yet rather amusing night.

What passed will not find its way into the papers, as the gallery was locked during most of the time.

So I will tell you the story.
There is a bill before the House prohibiting those processions of Orangemen which have excited a good deal of irritation in Ireland.
