63 and 64.

A thrust joint or tie joint or toe joint_, Fig.

268, is one in which two beams meet at an oblique angle, one receiving the thrust of the other.

The toe may be either square as in 63, or oblique as in 64.

The pieces are bolted or strapped together with iron.
