We all got off at Stamford, and I went to a livery stable, for the purpose of hiring a horse and wagon in order to remove the stolen property.

I told the stable keeper I was going to Norwalk, but it was so cold he would not hire his horses.

We could not get a horse at Stamford, so we arranged to take the next train to Norwalk.

We reached Norwalk the next day, and stopped at the house of old Josiah Tristram till Tuesday evening.

On Monday evening we were joined by Hudson.
