As they were leaving the dining room a little later, Grace felt a plump hand catch one of hers.
She turned to find Elfreda's gaze bent earnestly upon her.
There was a significant question in the other girl's eyes. Grace pressed the hand and said in a whisper: "I understood, Elfreda. Thank you for showing me the way.".
