The discussion now became animated.

It leads many, who use it erroneously, into perplexing and fruitless positions.

Assuming that the children are members of the church, they discuss the question, as the sermon has stated, Of what church are they members?
Some reply, Of the church to which their parents belong.

Others say nay, but of the church universal.
