CHAPTER XXX
22/33

'Is not the Lord among us ?' 'No evil shall come upon us.' Talk to them of God's glory, and they will answer by quoting some beautiful Psalm of David.

Talk of man's sinfulness, and they will repeat Psalm 51st, with seeming penitential devotion.

Speak of God's wrath against sin; they will assent readily, but add, that he is pitiful, remembering that we are dust.
