I went down the road, delighting in the sweet smells of nature.

It was with a sense of unusual freedom that I walked along with all my worldly possessions in my haversack.

I thought how convenient it was to lose one's kit.
Now I could lie down beside any haystack and feel quite at home.

The evening air grew chillier and I thought I had better get some roof over my head for the night.

I asked various men that I met where Ouderdom was.
