_May and June, 1915._ When our men came out of the line, the 2nd Field Ambulance was ordered back for rest and reorganization to a village called Ouderdom, three miles to the Southwest, and their O.C.invited me to follow them.

It was late in the evening when I started to walk.

The light was fading and, as I had no map, I was not certain where Ouderdom was.
