Manmatha, Heart-disturber.
Ananga, the Incorporeal. God of each lovely sight, each lovely sound. Soul-kindling, world-inflaming, star y-crowned, Eternal Cama! or doth Smara bright, Or proud Ananga give thee more delight--SIR W.JONES, _Ode to Camdeo_.] [Footnote 17: p.4.l.12._Thus of each, O son of Kunti_.
Kunti was the mother of King Yudishthira, to whom the poem is related.
I have usually omitted this address, which is sometimes made to Yudishthira under the title of Bharata, i.e.descendant of Bharata, or other appellations.] [Footnote 18: p.4.l.15._There the swans he saw disporting_.
In the original this is a far less poetic bird, and the author must crave forgiveness for having turned his geese into swans.
