47.] Two priests who were then with the King, Jean Girard, President of the Parlement of Grenoble, and Pierre l'Hermite, later subdean of Saint-Martin-de-Tours, judged the case difficult and interesting enough to be submitted to Messire Jacques Gelu, that Armagnac prelate who had long served the house of Orleans and the Dauphin of France both in council and in diplomacy.
