This design was far from being agreeable to the parliament.

His friends dreaded the climate of that country, which might prove fatal to his weak constitution.

The well-wishers of James were afraid of that prince's being hard pressed, should William take the field against him in person.
Both houses, therefore, began to prepare an address against this expedition.

In order to prevent this remonstrance, the king went to the parliament, and formally signified his resolution.

After his speech they were prorogued to the second day of April.
