I'll get some gold paint, and paint them over," said the Terror readily, anxious to humor in every way this dispenser of salaries.
"No, no, I can't give you the trouble of doing it all over again," said Lady Ryehampton quickly.

"I'll have a board made, and painted in London--exactly like the board of my cats' home at Tysleworth--and sent down to you to fix up." "Thanks very much," said the Terror.

"It will save me a great deal of trouble.

Painting isn't nearly so easy as it looks." Lady Ryehampton breathed a sigh of satisfaction.

She invited them all to lunch at The Plough, where she had stayed the night; and Mrs.
Pittaway racked her brains and strained all the resources of her simple establishment to make the lunch worthy of its giver.
