In the last resort, those who lived right had proved themselves more than equal to those who lived wrong.

Law and order were superior to piracy and chaos.

Forgetful of his own safety, he hoped that the sloop would overtake the schooner, and obeying his impulse he uttered a shout of triumph.

The captain turned upon him fiercely.
"You cheer the wrong ship," he said.
