"We secured a transfer from our command in Virginia, and we're hoping for commissions in the Royal Americans, and more active service, since the whole tide of war seems to have shifted to the north rather than the west." "The Royal Americans are fine men," said Robert.

"Though raised in the colonies, they rank with the British regulars.

I had a good friend in one of the regiments, Edward Charteris, of New York, but he was taken at Ticonderoga.

I saw the French bring him in a prisoner.
