_31st August, 1872._--The Baganda boy Kassa was followed to Gunda, and I delivered him to his countrymen.

He escaped from Mayole village this morning, and came at 3 P.M., his clothes in rags by running through the forest eleven hours, say twenty-two miles, and is determined not to leave us.

Pass Kisari's village, one and a half mile distant, and on to Penta or Phinta to sleep, through perfectly flat forest.
