The rivers all flowed into Kerere or Lower Tanganyika.

There is a hot fountain whose water could not be touched nor stones stood upon.

The Balegga were very unfriendly, and collected in thousands.

"We come to buy ivory," said Hassani, "and if there is none we go away." "Nay," shouted they, "you come to die here!" and then they shot with arrows; when musket-balls were returned they fled, and would not come to receive the captives.
