But Treasurer Prenter caught Bascomb by the arm, whispering in his ear.
"Waiting for you, Mr.Bascomb," called Evarts.
"I guess you'd better go," called the president, rather shamefacedly, after his talk with Mr.Prenter.

"I guess maybe Reade is right.
