He was a new emigrant to me and I wondered what he was.

I now took off my pants and found many of his kind in the seams.

I murdered all I could find, and when I got up I told Williams what I had found.

He said they hurt nobody and were called _piojos_, more commonly known as body lice.
We started on our prospecting tour and went northeast to a place now called Big Oak Flat.

This was at the head of a small stream and there were several small gulches that emptied into it that paid well.
