They have aided in combating pests of locusts, and, in short, have been ready to meet almost any kind of an emergency which has arisen.
The importance of having such a body of alert, industrious, disciplined, efficient men inspired by a high sense of duty, and physically so well developed that they can continue to perform that duty in the face of long-continued privations and hardships, is beyond dispute.

The results which have been obtained by the Philippine constabulary have abundantly justified the policy which led to its organization.
Its task has been no sinecure.

Eleven officers and one hundred ninety-seven enlisted men have been killed in action.

Forty-eight officers and nine hundred ninety-one men have died of disease.

Forty-six officers have been wounded in action.
