This visage was, perhaps, pourtrayed by my fancy.
If so, it will excite no surprize that some of his lineaments were now discovered.

Yet affinities were few and unconspicuous, and were lost amidst the blaze of opposite qualities.
What conclusion could I form?
Be the face human or not, the intimation was imparted from above.

Experience had evinced the benignity of that being who gave it.

Once he had interposed to shield me from harm, and subsequent events demonstrated the usefulness of that interposition.

Now was I again warned to forbear.
