When he arrived the populace took his horses from the carriage, and hurried him into the town, and to the inn, four flags flying and a band of music went before him.

After he alighted he went into an upper room, and addressed the largest multitude of people that I ever saw collected, from the window, for about an hour, in a very impressive manner; and so great was the crowd in the street that many fainted.

All was quiet, and, after he had done, they separated in a becoming manner.
On the 14th we attended their meetings in Kendal.

The forenoon meeting began at ten o'clock.

It is large, and was pretty open and satisfactory.
