But, do your best; and, if you find that there is any chance of employment for more men of the same class as yourselves, you must write and let us know, so as to relieve the distress of others who are left behind you.

There will be people waiting to meet you before you get to your journey's end; and, I have no doubt, you will meet with every fair encouragement.
One-half of your wages will be paid over to each man there; the other half will be forwarded here, for the benefit of your families, as you all know.

Now go, and do your duty to the best of your power, and you will never regret it.
