Ward and Adams, where we bivouacked for the night.
27th.
Bought some rations from Ward and Co., making our supply equal to last three months on the daily allowance of a pound and a half of flour, half a pound of pork, a quarter of a pound of sugar, and half an ounce of tea per man.

Being unable to take the cart any further, and wishing to have the team horses with me, I arranged with Ward and Co.

to take it to Newcastle for 2 pounds.
