Evil?
She knew all about it, for she had read of it in the "Golden Legend." Was not evil Satan himself?
And had not she seen how, although he constantly reappeared, he was always overthrown?
After every battle he remained crushed to earth, thoroughly conquered, and in a most pitiable state.
