'Dalgetty thought that all was safe, so did Edward.

And indeed the locks were safe--the only doors that hold in all the villa--I tried _yours_ in the afternoon while Manisty and the priest were talking! But mine held.

So I had to deal with Dalgetty.' She stooped, and whispered:--'I got it in Venice one day--the chemist near the Rialto.

She might have found it--but she never did--she is very stupid.

I did her no harm--I think.
