It was his design, in coming into the boat of the English, to proceed with them in search of the robbers.

Accordingly, he went with Captain Cook, as far as it was convenient, by water, when they landed, entered the country, and travelled same miles inland; in doing which the chief led the way, and inquired after the criminals of every person whom he saw.
