The northernmost of these islands is called by the natives Eaheinomauwe, and the southernmost Tovy, or Tavai Poenammoo.

It is not, however, certain, whether the whole southern island, or only part of it, is comprehended under the latter name.
Tovy Poenammoo is principally a mountainous, and to all appearance a barren country.
