'He has got a new back step that will quite amaze you.' As Gertrude in her present condition was not much given to polkas, this temptation did not have great effect.
'Oh, you must come, of course, my dear--and pray let me recommend you to go to Madame Bosconi for your bonnet; she has such darling little ducks, and as cheap as dirt.

But I want you to arrange about the carriage; you can do that with Mr.Tudor, and I can settle with you afterwards.
