Tradesmen's names over their shops were wonderfully vivid.

Every letter seemed fresh-painted, and after the dinginess of prison, the crude decorations struck me as worthy of the old masters.
Arriving at the rear of the Law Courts, we found many friends awaiting us.

Colonel Milman was obliged to protect us from their demonstrations of welcome.

Everyone of them seemed desirous to wring off an arm as a souvenir of the occasion.

Inside I met Mr.Bradlaugh, Mrs.Besant, Dr.
Aveling, and a host of other friends.
