Grandfather will not hear a word, and he just sputters and says 'demnation' when I try to tell him about you; but grandmother will listen, and I talk to her of you and Medicine Woods by the hour.

She says she thinks you must be a wonderfully nice person.

I haven't dared tell her yet the thing that will win her.

She is so little and frail, and she has heart trouble so badly; but some day I shall tell her all about Chicago that I can, and then of Uncle Henry, and then about you and the oak, and that will make her love you as I do.

There are so many things to do; they have sent for me three times.
