Let me bide where I am," and David's voice was pathetic in its pleading--"let me die in this dear old cottage." "No, no," returned Elizabeth, bursting into tears.

"David, how can you be so cruel! Surely you wish to stay longer with me! Why need we be parted yet! Think of it, dear--that it is for my sake, and your father's and Theo's.
