D.Shepard, "St.Memin's engraving of his great-grandfather Governor Spaight of North Carolina." In 1887 and 1888, Dr.Emmet and Mr.Gratz were jointly interested in having Albert Rosenthal engrave for them a portrait of Spaight.

On December 9, 1887, Gratz wrote to Emmet: "Spaight is worthy of being etched; though I can scarcely agree with you that our lithograph is not a portrait of the M.O.
